About TAP

The Tenant Advocacy Project (TAP) is a student practice organization that provides zealous advocacy for current and prospective public housing tenants and mobile voucher holders in the greater Boston area. Our advocacy is guided by the experiences, needs, and aspirations of tenants, and we are committed to amplifying the work of Boston area community organizations. We believe that every person has a right to safe, stable and affordable housing, and seek to empower communities facing gentrification and displacement, especially those systemically marginalized on the basis of race, immigration status, language, disability, gender, sexuality, family status, criminal legal system involvement, religion, or age.

Participating in TAP is a great way to:

1. Help those in need of legal services in the community

2. Develop your leadership skills in a student run

    organization

3. Acquire lawyering skills.

New TAP members typically handle case assignments and office hours responsibilities only, but they are also invited

to apply to the Intake Review Committee during their first

or second semester in TAP.  Second and third year TAP members are encouraged, but not required, to participate

on the student board.  Some students prefer to commit to case work only.
